Sami siida of Lyngenalps

Welcome to our siida, Samicamp under the Lyngenalps. We invite you to learn more about reindeer herding, feeding of our reindeers and a taste of a traditional reindeer stew in our big lavvo.

We invite you to our siida, sami camp, in the majestic Lyngen Alps to get to know our sami culture and join us feeding our reindeer.

Every year the reindeer arrive to the Lyngen peninsula in the spring for their summer pasture and travel back to Finnmarka for the winter season. In our camp you will meet some of the reindeer, who stay in Lyngen.

Learn about the life of reindeer herders, both past and present.

After feeding the reindeer and trying lasso throwing, we will move into our lavvo ( a big sami tent). Inside the lavvo you will get a warm traditional reindeer stew. We will share stories with you and our joik (traditional sami song)

There will be plenty of oppotunities to take photos.

What to bring: Warm boots, hat, mittens and scarf

Included: English-speaking Sami guide, hot traditional sami meal and hot drinks
